The threat
It doesn't break a window. It presses a button.
A signal jammer knocks out everything that communicates wirelessly, all at once. Without forcing anything and without leaving a trace.
- A jammer doesn't destroy systems. It leaves them deaf.
- They stay on. They stop reporting.
- The absence of an alarm is not a sign that everything is fine.

Simulate what a jammer does in a venue.
They are shouting in the middle of a noise that keeps them from hearing or being heard.
The car still runs, the camera is still on, the alarm is still installed. None of them is broken. To the owner, everything looks normal; to the monitoring center, that vehicle or that sensor simply stopped reporting. The first effect of an attack is silence.
Where it comes from
Military doctrine, bought online.
- 01
Born for war
Jammers were created as a military tool: cut off the opponent's wireless systems before advancing.
- 02
It went mass-market
Today they are produced at scale and sold at consumer prices.
- 03
It reached the street
Gangs apply the same military principle to a parking lot: disable the security systems before they act.
- 04
Enforcement can't keep up
A jammer can only be identified in a physical inspection, and those inspections reach only a fraction of the cargo. It is a problem of capacity, not of will.

It doesn't have a single shape
Looking doesn't help. Detecting the emission does.
The mental image is a black box full of antennas, and that image is exactly why they go unfound. A jammer can take many shapes, and there is no single feature to look for.
They are not opportunists. They are planned operations.
After scouting the site, they deploy jammers to neutralize entire zones before acting. Jamming is the first tactical step: creating deliberate silence.
The phenomenon persists over time, moves elsewhere when it meets resistance and adapts to the measures put in place.
Law 21.720 · Chile
Jammers. Since December 2024, selling, carrying or using a signal jammer is a crime in Chile, punishable by prison and fines. Carrying one is already a crime: detection creates the record that makes it possible to act.
Law 21.719 · Chile
Personal data. Fully in force as of December 2026. Tank complies with it, and that is why you can use Tank.
Frequently asked questions
Are small jammers dangerous?
Yes. Any device that transmits on the right frequency, with enough power and continuously, causes jamming. A low-power one still works for theft: it just has to be closer.
We're not being attacked anymore.
The phenomenon doesn't go away: it moves elsewhere when it meets resistance and adapts to the measures in place. The absence of alerts is the first symptom of an attack, not proof that there isn't one.
What does the law say?
Since December 2024, Chile's Law 21.720 makes it a crime to sell, carry or use a jammer. Carrying one is already a crime: there is no need to wait for the theft.
