Tank CarDefense

They steal without breaking a window. Your car never locks.

A signal jammer cuts off the car's locks and its GPS at the same time, without forcing anything. CarDefense makes the attack visible and guides your team to whoever is carrying it out.

  • 8×8 m Hyperlocation
  • < 5 m Handheld
  • 53 ha Per sensor
  • ~1 min to target, with a trained team

Illustrative video: a man holding a jammer tries to open a parked car and runs off when he sees the guard coming, with a spectrum monitor on top: the signals of the security systems, a jamming attack that covers them, and Tank's detection.

The problem

The car is still there. To your monitoring, it no longer exists.

The locks, the alarm and the GPS are still installed, but they are cut off. Malls, strip centers, casinos, gas stations and parking lots gather hundreds of vehicles and, with them, the incentive.

The solution

A sensor on its own is just a device. CarDefense is the complete system.

Sensors that see the attack, a handheld detector that closes the search, Mission Control to manage every alert and Academy so your team knows what to do. Tank installs it, calibrates it and maintains it.

  1. 01

    You will see the attack.

What is silence today becomes an alert with a place and a time.

  2. 02

    Your team will get there.

The alert takes the right guard to the right place, and the search is closed on the ground.

  3. 03

    There will be a record.

Every event records who dispatched, who closed and who validated.

By venue, not by vehicle

We protect the place, not a car.

An alarm or a GPS tracker only protects the car it is installed in, and it transmits over the same signal the jammer shuts down. A Tank sensor watches the entire venue: it covers every car that comes in, with nothing installed on it, and it sees the attack instead of going blind.

Comparison of two identical parking lots during the same attack. With one device per vehicle, only 2 of 12 cars are covered and, when someone switches on a jammer, those devices lose signal and no one finds out. With a Tank sensor, all 12 cars are covered, the sensor detects the attack in the zone and the security team heads there.

How it's used

At your venue or with your patrol. Two ways to see the attack.

CarDefense use cases

01At a venue

Fixed sensors and handheld. The whole venue, around the clock.

The fixed sensors watch the venue and tell you in which zone the attack is happening. The guard with the handheld detector closes the last meters. That is how a mall, a casino or a gas station is protected.

  • < 5 mcertainty with the handheld detector

  • Fixed sensors
  • Handheld detector
  • Tank Mission Control
  • Tank Academy

02On patrol

Just the handheld. It covers the area your patrol travels.

A patrol carries the handheld detector and covers any area it passes through, such as open parking lots, streets or roads, without installing anything. When there is an attack nearby, the guard finds it on the ground.

  • < 5 mcertainty with the handheld detector

The technology

The sensor tells you where to look. The handheld closes the last few meters.

Sees the attack

Fixed sensor

It watches the venue 24/7. When someone turns on a jammer, it alerts your team and tells it in which zone it is happening. One covers the venue; several add certainty.

  • 53 hacoverage with one sensorUp to 53 hectares with one sensor (about 131 acres), a radius of 410 m.
  • 8×8 mprecision with HyperlocationEven in the worst case: an enclosed parking garage, where the signal bounces and gets absorbed.

Closes the search

Handheld detector

CarDefense Mobile goes in the guard's hand and works like a radar. At a venue, it takes the guard from the zone flagged by the alert to whoever is carrying out the attack; on patrol, it covers the area being traveled.

  • < 5 mcertainty with the handheld detectorThe radar-style handheld detector closes the last meters of the search.

  • Integration

With your CAD and the venue's cameras: Tank adapts to what you already have.

Tactics · Time to target

Getting there in time depends on your team. The technology shortens the search.

The more precise the configuration, the less your guard has to search and the sooner they arrive. If your team reacts quickly, a more basic configuration may be enough for your time to target; if they need support, Sector or Hyperlocation bring them closer.

  1. The macro-zone

    CarDefense One

Tank points to the macro-zone of the attack. Your guard has to search all of it: it's the slowest.

  2. One zone

    CarDefense Sector

Tank guides your guard to a zone. The search narrows down to that zone.

  3. 8×8 m

    CarDefense Hyperlocation

Tank guides your guard straight to the attacker. They get there sooner.

Same guard, same speedThe difference is how much they have to search. In all three, CarDefense Mobile closes the last meters: < 5 m.

The same guard, at the same speed, looks for the same attacker with each configuration: with CarDefense One they search the whole macro-zone and arrive last; with CarDefense Sector they search only one zone; with CarDefense Hyperlocation they go straight to 8×8 m and arrive first. Illustration.

More basic is not less secure: the attack is detected just the same. The only difference is how much your team has to search.

How your team gets there

Detecting is half the problem. The other half is getting someone there.

  1. 01

    Detect

The sensors see the attack that no camera or alarm records, and tell you which zone it is in.

  2. 02

    Alert

The event appears on screen with an audible alert and its location on the site map.

  3. 03

    Manage

The operator dispatches the right guard to the right place. With the handheld detector, they close the last meters.

  4. 04

    Record

On closure, what the guard observed is documented, with a record of who closed, who reviewed and who validated.

Illustration · Until your team reaches the attacker, search included, at any site size. With the system running and a trained team; it varies with the scenario.

In the field

What happens when your team sees the attack.

up to88%

fewer jamming attacks

Reduction in detected attacks, not in thefts, sustained for 2 to 3 months after deployment. It happens when the team handles every alert: once attackers see the guards coming, they show up less.

Gangs arrested alongside Carabineros.

The teams of several of our clients, working with Carabineros (Chile's national police), have caught gangs with the jammer in their possession.

Attackers identified and deterred.

Most of our clients manage to deter the attacker and identify them: the vehicle's license plate, how many there were and what they looked like.

Platform

The sensors see the attack. Your team resolves it.

CarDefense includes the platform that manages every alert and the training of those who respond.

Law 21.720

Since December 2024, Chile's Law 21.720 makes it a crime to sell, carry or use a signal jammer. Carrying one is already a crime; there is no need to wait for the theft.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one sensor cover?

Up to 53 hectares with one sensor, equivalent to a radius of 410 m. The configuration defines how much certainty you have within that coverage. One covers broadly, Sector subdivides and Hyperlocation gets down to 8×8 m.

My parking garage has several levels.

That is the Sector configuration, with several sensors that subdivide by level. With Hyperlocation you get down to 8×8 m within the level, even in an enclosed parking garage where the signal bounces.

We already have cameras and alarms.

They all depend on the same signal the jammer attacks, and that is exactly why they are the ones that can't see it. Tank does not replace your provider; it protects what they already sold you.

Won't it flood me with false alarms?

Tank calibrates the sensitivity for your venue, and the handheld detector lets you confirm on the ground. There are also operating hours and scheduled muting for maintenance.

A car was stolen from us. How do I know if a jammer was used?

Every attack is recorded with date, time and location. By matching place and moment, the question goes from suspicion to fact.

Can I use just the handheld detector?

Yes. A patrol can carry it and cover the area it travels, without fixed sensors. With fixed sensors you add around-the-clock monitoring and the alert that tells you where to look.

Does the handheld detector require training?

Yes, and it is included. Tank Academy trains and certifies the guards who use it, with unannounced drills.

Where do I start?

With CarDefense Diagnosis we install a unit and tell you whether you are being attacked, how much and when. With that data, you decide.

Start by measuring. We tell you whether you are being attacked, how much and when.
