Home invasion in Chicureo: jammers used to disable cameras and alarms in a gated community

A gang of at least six armed people broke into a house in Chicureo after blinding the alarms, Wi-Fi and cameras with signal jammers. It was the fifth similar attack in the area that year.

In the early hours of July 6, 2025, a gang of at least six armed people broke into a house in the El Remanso area of Chicureo, north of Santiago, using signal jammers to disable the alarms, Wi-Fi and security cameras.

The criminals got in without leaving any video record and intimidated the residents into handing over the keys to their vehicles: a robbery with no video record, no alarm and no timely response.

It was the fifth similar attack in the area that year, and it shows how electronic warfare has moved from public parking lots to home invasions.

Residents, tired of the insecurity, are demanding urgent measures, the closure of vehicle access points and a stronger police presence.
